alliance air: Alliance Air board to discuss pilot pay issues this month
Alliance Air, owned by the government, operates about 100 flights a day. It has a fleet of 21 aircraft, including 19 ATR aircraft and 2 Dronier aircraft.
In an internal communication on Friday, Alliance Air CEO Vineet Sood told pilots the airline had partially restored their salaries in April.
The carrier is considering further wage restoration from September and the board will discuss the issue at its meeting scheduled for September 16, according to the communication.
One of the pilots’ demands is to restore wages to pre-COVID levels.
As a result of the pandemic, salaries were cut by 60% and so far the salary has not been fully restored, the source said.
Alliance Air has yet to release a statement on the pilots’ strike on Friday or on pay issues.
