Family of Topeka’s Latest Homicide Victim Creates GoFundMe for Funeral Expenses, Rewards Money
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The family of Topeka’s latest homicide victim has set up a GoFundMe to help pay for his funeral and provide a reward for sentencing the person or people who murdered him.
Dustin Clayton was found shot Friday night April 22 by officers from the Topeka Police Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“With hearts filled with grief, we share that on April 22, 2022, Dustin was senselessly murdered in Topeka, Kansas,” said Kevin Clayton, Dustin’s brother and GoFundMe creator. “We are reaching out…with the hope that the person(s) responsible will be apprehended and quickly brought to justice.”
The family said they are asking for donations to help cover Clayton’s funeral arrangements and pay the bills. They also noted that some of the money from the fundraiser will go towards a reward for a conviction in the case.
Clayton’s mother, Mary Greiner, and Kevin said they vowed to reach out to others who have or are currently struggling with addictions, depression and anxiety to keep Dustin’s dream of living alive. to help others achieve sobriety and a relationship with God.
