Sampdoria eye loan deal for Tottenham ace Bryan Gil

Sampdoria are reportedly considering a loan move for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Bryan Gil this summer.

According Club Doria 46Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil has emerged as a loan target for Serie A side Sampdoria in the current transfer window.

Bryan Gil only joined Tottenham last summer from Sevilla in a deal worth €25million, with Erik Lamela also going the other way. However, the 21-year-old winger found it difficult to fit in at his new club. After struggling for playing time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he returned to Spain in January, joining Valencia on loan.

Gil played more regularly in his homeland and showed glimpses of his quality. And Los Che were keen to sign him permanently but were ruled out of the Spain international’s move. Back at Tottenham, the 21-year-old doesn’t find his place in the squad under Antonio Conte, and another temporary transfer could be on the cards.

Sampdoria have had their eyes on Gil for a long time now. They had approached Tottenham over a move for the young winger in June but were put off by demands for a €3m loan fee from the Lilywhites.

However, the Italian side are now planning to take another approach for the Spain international as they look to add more firepower to their attacking arsenal. With the future of Antonio Candreva and Mehdi Leres uncertain, Sampdoria could use another wide striker in their ranks and believe Gil meets their demands.

A young winger with immense potential and capable of playing on both flanks, Gil can become a good footballer under the right guidance and with regular playing time. And a loan move would make sense for the 21-year-old as he has little to no chance of playing frequently under Conte at Tottenham Hotspur.

Gil is also attracting interest from Spanish clubs, with the former Cadiz loanee is keen to sign him while Real Sociedad also see him as an option. So it will be interesting to see where Bryan Gil ends up next season as another loan spell looms for the prodigious young forward.
